For my trip to Savannah, GA, I was beyond grateful for the celiac community members for sharing their experiences. Goose Feathers was recommended to me and I am so glad because I had a really great experience there.
Goose Feathers is a casual breakfast spot in the heart of the historic district of Savannah. Although they do not have a menu for gluten free, the staff was very knowledgable about what was and was not gluten free and their protocol for preventing cross contact. They carry gluten free bread and bagels–but better yet, they keep those items sealed and separate from their gluten-containing counterparts. Usually having anything toasted is out of the question, but Goose Feathers has a dedicated gluten free toaster! When I alerted the staff that I have celiac disease, they took extra precautions including changing gloves, using separate and clean surfaces and utensils, and the dedicated gluten free toaster.
I kept the breakfast simple and ordered a gluten free breakfast sandwich (eggs + cheese + ham) on a gluten free bagel. I received my order quickly and it was delicious!!!! And really inexpensive. If my hotel had been closer, I would have eaten at Goose Feathers every morning for breakfast! 🙂
