Gluten Free at Blu Jam (Brentwood, Los Angeles, CA)

My absolute favorite brunch place in Los Angeles is Blu Jam! Blu Jam has several locations in Los Angeles including (Brentwood, Sherman Oaks, Hollywood, Downtown LA, Tarzana, and more!). They even have multiple locations in Japan (?!?). So far I have visited the Brentwood and Sherman Oaks locations and I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. I have visited at least 10 times since moving out here.

Blu Jam clearly labels their menu for gluten free (GF) and gluten free possible (GFP)—meaning a dish is not normally gluten free BUT it can be modified to be gluten free. The vast majority of the breakfast menu is already gluten free or can be made gluten free. SO MANY OPTIONS! As with any restaurant, it is super important to inform the staff regarding celiac or allergy. You will notice that the receipt will say “GLUTEN ALLERGY!” right on it. Oh…did I mention that they have loads of vegetarian , vegan, and pescatarian gluten free options too? Everyone can eat here!

The incredible Steak Hash!!

So what do I order….? THE STEAK HASH! Oh my goodness…this dish has everything you could dream of and more. “Grilled beef tenderloin chopped and sautéed with organic baby spinach, caramelized onions, gorgonzola, grilled potatoes, mushrooms, topped with two poached eggs, herb-chive hollandaise sauce” YES! The beef is so tender and perfectly cooked (and I’m pretty picky!). It is so filling and delicious and I could easily eat it every day.  Since it is super filling so I don’t have to worry about being hungry for the rest of the day.

The locations are on the smaller side so if you go for brunch on a weekend, try to go before 10am or after 2PM. All locations are closed by 3PM though! Blu Jam is a brunch/lunch place ONLY! Which is such a bummer because their food is honestly the most incredible brunch food in all of LA and I would 100% eat it for dinner (PS I have…I showed up at 2:30PM to get a super early brunch dinner! No regrets!). The service can definitely be slow at times…but the food and delicious gluten free options make up for it!!! My mom, who is not gluten free, has requested multiple times to eat at Blu Jam when she visits me. It’s one of her favorite places too! Any time someone comes to town to visit me, I take them to Blu Jam 🙂 It is really cool that there are so many options for me and I don’t feel like I am missing out at all. The quality is great and the price is not terrible–I will be back again soon!

**Please note that this review solely reflects my own honest opinion. I was neither paid nor compensated for my visit here. Also, kitchen protocols and menus can change at any time. Make sure to speak to the staff at any restaurant before eating to make sure that they can accommodate your dietary restriction.**
