Gluten Free at Stuff’d Dumpling Shop (Los Angeles)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! To kick off the New Year on a great start, I thought I would share my new favorite restaurant in Los Angeles: Stuff’d Dumpling Shop. Dumplings don’t usually suggest gluten free but….Stuff’d is a 100% gluten free restaurant!!!! DEDICATED GLUTEN FREE!!!!!! YES!!!! DREAMS COME TRUE! Eliminating gluten cross contact plus having the ENTIRE MENU be gluten free makes me so so happy. With that being said, I have visited Stuff’d over 10 times in the past few months, despite it being a hassle to get to from where I live. Yes, it’s that good to be okay with sitting in endless LA traffic….

The menu is clearly labeled for vegetarian and vegan options so everyone can enjoy! How stuff’d works is you walk up to the counter and order. You then sit and wait for the food to be brought out to you. Stuff’d is fast casual, small, and fills up quickly (so better as a solo or date night rather than a 25 person birthday celebration–but have no fear, Stuff’d delivers too so you can take the party home if a 25 person party is more of your thing!).

For the sake of this blog, I have tried every single dumpling option available (you are welcome). Behold four of my favorites…..

siberian
Siberian Classic (organic pork & beef served with a special delicious sour cream based dipping sauce)
hotchick
Hot Chick (Organic chicken & veggies in a Thai curry sauce)
spicypotato.jpeg
Spicy potato (sweet potato and carrot with spicy sage and garlic oil)
wildmushroom
Wild Vegan Mushroom (Mixed mushroom, leek, Miyoko’s cheese, arugula salad, truffle vinaigrette)

Now that you are probably starving…these dumplings were even better than they looked! Oh my…although I love them all, my absolute favorites that I order every single time are the Wild Vegan Mushroom & the Classic Siberian. The Wild Vegan Mushroom was perfectly flavored and had the most delicious vinaigrette that I wish I could take home and put on everything–I am a HUGE fan of truffle and mushrooms. This dish was light and refreshing. The Classic Siberian, on the other hand, is much heavier with a delicious thick dipping sauce that I always order double of it—I have a bit a dumpling with that sauce. The meat is cooked perfectly and makes a fantastic meal. This is also one of my husband’s favorites, alongside the Hot Chick, which is the only curry/soup-y based one. It is rather spicy, but not so much that it is inedible. I am sensitive to spice and can enjoy this dish as long as I have water on hand!

The portion sizes are NOT meant to be full meals individually. To make a dinner, we each order 3-4 servings of dumplings, so keep that in mind when ordering. This is a great restaurant to order a bunch of different options and share (because they are all gluten free!!). I haven’t tried their salads yet, but we did try their veggie crudités and they were good.

I love Stuff’d and will be back as often as my paycheck and husband (the one with the car) allows! Have you tried it yet?!

**Please note that this review solely reflects my own honest opinion. I was neither paid nor compensated for my visit here. Also, kitchen protocols and menus can change at any time. Make sure to speak to the staff at any restaurant before eating to make sure that they can accommodate your dietary restriction.**
