Hello everyone! 🙂 I hope your week is off to a great start. I recently posted a review (check it out here!) about Enjoy Life gluten free waffle & pancake mix. Since making those delicious pancakes, I have had the opportunity to try more of their products including their gluten free soft baked cookies. To recap in case you missed the last post: Enjoy Life products are free-from the “top eight” allergens: wheat/gluten, dairy, peanuts, tree nuts, egg, soy, fish and shellfish. Products are also made without casein, potato, sesame and sulfites. Their products are made in a dedicated gluten free facility.
And now back to the cookies….I am a huge chocolate lover. HUGE. I mean chocolate is practically its own food group in my life. I devoured a bag of Enjoy Life mini chocolate chips within a few days. No shame. With that being said, I tend to gravitate towards more chocolatey desserts. Until now. I was excited to try Enjoy Life Snickerdoodles.
These cookies are delicious! They are not crumbly at all–which tends to be a problem with many gluten free brands that I try. The flavor is spot on for snickerdoodles. I was able to eat gluten for the first 20 years of my life until my celiac diagnosis so I have tasted many many snickerdoodle cookies of the gluten variety. This gluten free one competes with the non-gluten free. Impressive.
I had yet another opportunity to try some more soft baked cookies. My friend was organizing a grad school event and wanted me to feel more included. Worried about cross contamination and celiac safe options, she asked me what would be a good brand of snacks she could pick up from the store. I told her about the soft baked cookies from Enjoy Life. Sure enough, she picked me up the chocolate chip ones and hide them away from all of the other food so only I could have them (hello safe food!!!). Delicious! I meant to take a picture…but ate them all. These cookies made a second appearance when I brought a box to an event that I knew would have dinner and snacks. I knew my friend, who has a wheat, nut, and egg allergy (so many allergies!), would be there. So I brought him some Enjoy Life cookies that we could share. He ate most of them, which made me very happy.
In all honestly, I prefer the texture and taste of the snickerdoodles to the chocolate chip cookies. The chocolate chip cookies I tried were not as soft, not as chocolatey as I expected, and seemed to be denser. The flavor of the snickerdoodles surpassed that of the chocolate chip (although still good). I really can’t find anything negative about these snickerdoodles other than I wish there were more in a pack because they are only supposed to be consumed in one sitting, right??
Not a fan of soft cookies? Prefer the crunchier ones? Have no fear! Enjoy Life has crunchy cookies as well. I am not usually a fan of crunchy cookies…but those chocolate chip ones would probably be fantastic dunked in milk.
What is your favorite Enjoy Life product?? Have you tried their cookies?
**Note: Although I was not paid for this review, I received free samples of Enjoy Life Products. However, as always, all thoughts and opinions are entirely my own and reflect my own personal experiences. I am too sassy to ever change that! **
