Gluten Free NYC, Part 8–Pappardella

New York City has some of the very best gluten free Italian restaurants (in my opinion at least!). Someday, when I finally finish school, I just want to spend weeks trying every single Italian restaurant in NYC that has (Celiac safe) gluten free options. Coming from an Italian family, I can be picky about Italian food–but NYC has yet to disappoint. This particular restaurant, Pappardella, was where Ryan took me for our 4 year anniversary last February. How I missed uploading this post, I have no idea, because we had a fantastic experience, aside from the massive snow storm.

Pappardella ( Located at 316 Columbus Avenue @ 75th Street. This restaurant is very classy and romantic—I advise making reservations because this place is quite tiny and extremely popular. Also, it is a bit on the dressier side so keep that in mind.  As for the Celiac friendly gluten free food offerings, just check out all of their gluten free menu options: Just look at all those options!!! It took me at least 15 minutes to decide what to order. To be honest, I was overwhelmed with the gluten free offerings, but I ended up ordering the chicken parmigiano with gluten free pasta, which was delicious! The staff was very knowledgable about gluten free and I felt safe eating here. In fact, their staff is trained to handle gluten allergies. They have a separate area to prepare to gluten free options to avoid cross contamination! Win! I love how they have a separate gluten free menu for convenience. 🙂

Although it is on the pricier end, the quality of food was perfection and I would highly recommend this restaurant for any special occasion. This location is perfect for a romantic evening followed by a stroll around central park and a visit to the Museum of Natural History. 🙂 We will definitely be returning! As always, check with the restaurant to make sure that your needs can be accommodated since regulations can change at any point!
