Happy Wednesday, Gluten Free-ers! Hope your week has been filled with wonderful gluten free food. Today I bring you Part 2 of infinity Ithaca, NY posts. Enjoy 🙂
Viva Taqueria: (http://www.vivataqueria.com) Located at 101 N Aurora St. Viva is the very best Mexican cuisine in Ithaca and has tons of gluten free options!! I even hosted my 21st birthday party here. The staff is extremely knowledgeable about gluten free and can tell you easily what you can eat. In fact their menu boasts that “all of their items are gluten free except for flour tortillas and beer.” Of course, I recommend double checking whatever you plan to order with the chef! I always opted for the Cantina platter with chicken. The guacamole and salsa are heavenly. Portions are large and decently priced. As for the margaritas, the staff confirmed that they were gluten free and they were fantastic!!! Definitely try them, providing that their mix is still gluten free. For those who choose the gluten free lifestyle or are less sensitive to gluten cross contamination, their chips are gluten free but are cooked in the same fryer as gluten, so while they won’t be an option for celiac disease individuals, they may be an option for those who do not need strict gluten free. Warning: this place is incredibly popular and very very busy! They do not take reservations and will not seat you if your whole party is not there. Be ready for a wait….but it is definitely worth it!
Taste of Thai Express: (http://tasteofthaiexpress.com) Located at 209 S Meadow Street. Delicious Thai food delivered right to your door! The number of times that I have ordered delivery food to my lab during my 4 years in Ithaca…..The staff is knowledgeable about gluten free—I recommend the Pad Thai. Large portions and on the cheaper side. Fast delivery. I have never eaten at the actual restaurant, but I do very much recommend their food!
The BoatYard Grill: (http://www.boatyardgrill.com) Located 525 Taughannock Blvd. BoatYard Grill is on the pricier side, but has an amazing view of Ithaca and the lake as well as a very knowledgeable about gluten free. I love the atmosphere here as well as the gluten free entree choices.
That’s all for now! Stay tuned for more coming very soon!
