Gluten Free NYC, Part 4

Hello fellow gluten free friends! I am writing to you from 30,000 ft above the ground on my way to Los Angeles to see Ryan….and of course, I am thinking about food (but really, when am I not???). In the spirit of long distance travel to see Ryan, I thought I would add some additional gluten free NYC restaurant updates from our adventures in NYC this summer. Enjoy and have a happy Labor Day weekend!! Watch out for some wonderful Los Angeles restaurant recommendations coming very soon….

New York Restaurants

CafeDada: (http://www.cafedadany.com) Located at 57 7th Ave, Brooklyn, NY right by the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens so Café Dada is perfect for brunch/lunch before exploring the must-see gardens. The café is very small but very artsy—my favorite type! The waiter was very friendly and was very understanding of gluten free. He assured me that he would make sure that the chef took extra precautions and spent time going through the menu telling me what I could have. However, the moment he said the café had gluten free crepes, I was sold and didn’t even bother to look at any of the other gluten free options—sorry about that. I had the nutella and banana gluten free crepe. Ryan, being the mature half of this couple, had a savory mushroom spinach, rather than sweet crepe (see below for photos) that was also gluten free so I could try it. Absolutely delicious and Ryan won some serious boyfriend points for picking this place!! We will definitely return the next time we are in Brooklyn.

Bann restaurant: (http://www.bannrestaurant.com) Located at 350 W 50th St. (Times Square area). This is a wonderful Korean BBQ restaurant! I ordered hot stone bibimbap—a rice bowl full of veggies. It was very filling and absolutely delicious. The portion sizes were huge and the staff was very accommodating of gluten free—they were happy to help me with my selections! I could even have some of the small plates they bring to the table. Service was fast too, which was good because we were very hungry. As with Café Dada, we will definitely be returning! We very much recommend Bann!
